She handed her back the locket "You know, I think you're right, but I can't stand the way a lot of people treat them. I also don't see what's so wrong if they get freedom." She shrugged. "I always like freedom."

Casey smiled as she put on her necklas. "Well this is kind of like their freedom. I mean, if you think about it. They have more happiness here than anywhere else. I've seen the way people treat them. It was like with my own house elf we had long time ago. Everytime people came, they were so mean to her, they had her in tears. It was horrible. But me and my parents and Amanda were like her best friends so it was quiet easy to make her laugh. We only asked her for favors. We mostly did the work. She would sometimes help. But that was when we felt like we needed it. We never asked her to do more than a few things a day." Casey said, as she remembered her house elf. She pulled out some sort of mirror and opened it, revealing a picture of her house elf. "Her name was Darcy but we would sometimes call her Lace. It stood for everyones name. The C would be for Casey, me. The A would be for Amanda. L for my mother Lucy and E for my father Edward." Casey said with a smile as she layed down next to Hermione, putting the mirror with Lace's picture back into her pocket. "She loved that name." She said, closing her eyes before jumping back up to grab something to eat and layed back down.

"Oh yeah" She said as she handed over the pretty locket. " I just don't understand why house elves don't want freedom, it's very odd. I think they should all get freedom and wages. It's fair that way. Oh well." Hermione shrugged, her strange opinions on house elves made it even more difficult to make friends, everyone else thought that the house elves deserved what they got. Hermione's eyes scanned the lake and looked back to Casey. "This is very fun, I'm glad you bumped your head" She said laughingly.

Casey laughed. "Yeah I guess I am glad to have bumped my head." She said, smiling at Hermione. "And I think that this is their sort of freedom. I mean, they're safe, they eat some good food without having to hear no. You just," Casey began as she picked herself up so she was sitting down. "You just have to see it in the eyes of a house elf. Just be them for a moment and look at all the positive things in life you know? Then you'll see how they see life here as good and grateful." Casey said with a nod as she took a bit out of her sandwhich and pulled out another pumkin juice. Casey took a sip and gave Hermione a smile as she placed her drink down. "You know, I like you. Like a friend of course. It's not every day I get to make a friend with someone who's cool. I mean, usually people here aren't my type of person to hang out with. You have the brains and possibly the bravery and, you're in my house. So it makes hanging out much more easier." Casey said with a smile. "You're like the perfect friend." Casey said, shaping Hermione out for fun as she gave a laugh. She liked hanging out with her. It was easy to communicate and she felt a trust bond quicker than how she's used to. She felt closer to her than friends she had long ago.

Hermione nodded and sat back up "Yeah, I guess your right." Hermione looked at Casey and gave a quiet laugh "You're like the prefect friend too, you're in my house, you're not mean, you can walk and talk. I really like you, it's not everyday that I make a new friend." She gave Casey her most brilliant smile. She could tell they would be friends for a very long time. "You're a pretty cool person Casey, I hope you know that."

Casey smiled. "So are you, Hermione. So are you." She said to her before turning to look at the Lake.

"So Casey, now we've had our little picnic. What do you want to do now?" Hermione asked, "We could go up to the common room and quiz each other, we could take a walk somewhere, or whatever you like." She looked at her and then out to the lake, awaiting her reply.

Casey shrugged. "I don't know. There are lots we could do." Casey said with a smile. "Maybe we could go somewhere, find out about what really happened to my sister. I know the liberary at the moment is well... Not around, but do you know anywhere else we could go or do you have any books we could look into?" Casey asked in hopes. "Or.. Maybe we could walk around and get to know Hogwarts more or something." Casey added. She didn't want to pull Hermione into doing something she didn't want to do. Plus, she wasn't sure if Hermione was even really interested or wanting to waste her time looking up Casey's sister's history and how she really died.

Hermione looked over at Casey, she wanted to help her do whatever to get closure from what was an obvious painful ocurrence in her life. "Well...why don't we check some of my books? I already know everything about Hogwarts, that book helps" She said nodding in the direction of Hogwarts A History "There might be something about your sister's death in one of my books, but I'm not sure. Why not try anyway?" She shrugged and stood up stretching. She put her hand out to help Casey up and gave her a smile, her eyes seeming to twinkle slightly.

Casey smiled as she took Hermione's offering hand. "Really?" She said, her eyes twinkling before she picked up the basket and the book. She looked back at Hermione and smiled as she put her hand out that held the book to Hermione since her hands were free. Hermione was the first person who actually took interest in her familys death. Most people just comphort her but never seemed to have the time to help.

"So, Casey. I take it you and your sister were close?" She asked brushing herself off, and turning her back to the lake. She secretly wished she had a sister. It would be so much fun, they could be like best friends.

Casey could tell the way Hermione had spoke, she wanted a sister. "Yeah I guess. I do miss her." She said with a smile as she held out the book. She put down the basket for a moment and opened the book. "Amanda Spel." She practically whispered. "I doubt she's in here. She never went to Hogwarts. She died before she got the chance." She said with a frown. She hated admitting her sisters death. Casey shut the book, offering it back to Hermione as she picked up the basket yet again. "She's not in here. I can tell." She said with a sigh. Casey smiled. "You know what, I have a feeling me and you will be best of friends. Maybe almost sisters." She said cheerfully, puttting away the thoughts of her sister aside. "Yup. Hermione Granger and Casey Spel: Best freidnds for life. I like it. What do you think?" Casey said as she went to the other side of Hermione. "And if we were formed together, we would probably be called Hermisey Spenger or Maybe Casione Grangel" Casey said with a laugh. "Which would you choose?" She said with a giggle.

Hermione giggled, she never giggled. " I personally like Hermisey Spenger. I could see someone's name actually being that. You know, maybe we'll become so inseperable it'll drive everyone crazy, especially all of the boys that want to ask us out, it'll be next to impossible for them to!" She laughed, with tear nearly spilling from her eyes, imaging those poor boys. She turned and started walking backward, to look at Casey, she had mastered the skill of walking backwards and not tripping. "Well," She said, her face serious, she didn't think Amanda's death was a laughing matter "We can go to the common room and look in my book about disapperances and spells that help you defend yourself against kidnappers, murderers, and other things like that."

Casey gave a small smile. She liked how Hermione knew when things were funny other things were not. "I doubt anyone is out looking for me. I'm nothing special really." She shrugged. "But alright. Maybe there are books in the common room that could help." She said, smiling now as she picked up the basket. It was still full so it was a little heavy. "Mind if you take the book while I carry the basket?" She asked. She hates asking for things but the basket was heavy and there were a lot of stairs to walk.

"No problem." She said hastily grabbing the book, she could tell that the picnic basket was heavy, they hadn't ate all that much at all. "It's no problem at all, but I do have a problem with one thing." She said, giving her friend a hard glare. "When you said you were nothing special, that's a lie. You're very special, I doubt many girls our age are as cool as you are. You can be serious and hilarious, you're very pretty, I can't tell why you spent your afternoon with me instead of some gorgeous boy. And, you are very kind." She cut herself off before she started rambling on about all of Casey's good traits. She really did think she was special.
